Nurses Certificate in Anaesthesia (CL)
The Improve International NCert(Anaesth) consolidated modular learning programme has been accredited by ISVPS as being a suitable education programme based on the course content and the calibre of the tutors delivering the taught course. You will have access to all of the content and teaching from the Nurses Certificate in Anaesthesia over a three month period , allowing you to progress your knowledge and perfect your skills quicker.
Candidates are required to study all areas of the course syllabus, which comprises both taught and non-taught areas. Full details of the course syllabus will be available by Improve International on registration for the course.
To achieve the NCert(Anaesth), candidates are required to:
· Be a RCVS registered nurse and have been in practice for a minimum of 1 year (unfortunately students are unable to complete the certificate but can attend the modules)
· Be working in practice for the duration of the certificate completion
· Attend the ISVPS-accredited modular training programme
· Submit 1 x 2,500-word clinical audit
· Sit an online multiple choice question (MCQ) examination
· Sit an online ‘spot test’ examination
Candidates will also be required to complete the following additional study:
· Further reading on the taught subjects
· Additional study of the non-taught areas of the course syllabus.
On successful attainment of the NCert(Anaesth), candidates are awarded a personalised certificate, and their name is included in the ISVPS register of Nurses’ Certificate holders.

How long will it take?

What if I am not successful in passing one of the components of
Candidates are required to pass all components of the examination to gain the NCert(Anaesth) qualification. Candidates who fail their clinical audit will be given clear indications where they were unsuccessful and guidelines for writing a new clinical audit. An administration fee is payable to re-sit the final examination or resubmit the clinical audit. Examinations take place once a year and candidates who are unsuccessful in passing the exam can re-sit the following year.
How many attempts do I have at passing the certificate?
You are allowed 3 attempts to pass each component of the certificate.
What do I need to revise for the examination?
You will need to revise the entire syllabus as well as the module information for the examination
How do I get started?
Candidates enrolled on the accredited modular training programmes are sent information on how to register for an ISVPS examination. After examination registration, candidates are given access to the candidate area where they can view the example clinical audit.
