We operate the website www.isvps.org.
International School of Veterinary Postgraduate Studies (ISVPS) is the trading name of International School of Veterinary Postgraduate Studies Limited, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 12625364 and with our registered office at Benchmark House, Smithy Wood Drive, Sheffield S35 1QN, and main office at Alexandra House, Whittingham Drive, Wroughton, Swindon, Wiltshire SN4 0QJ.
We agree to provide services to you on the following terms and conditions and Policies mentioned. These constitute a contract between us and you and must be read together with any other documents explicitly agreed to be part of this contract. Any other terms and conditions contained in any other document are excluded unless their inclusion is expressly agreed in writing by us.
In these terms and conditions “we” and “us” means ISVPS and the “service” means the exam or other service you have ordered from us as set out in the service description or other agreed document.
The International School of Veterinary Postgraduate Studies (ISVPS) will:
- Provide a final examination. This will be held on a single day and according to ISVPS instructions. Details will be made available to candidates approximately three months prior to the examination date. ISVPS reserves the right to change these details under exceptional circumstances, but, if this is necessary, will provide maximum possible notice to candidates.
- Scrutinise completed course work submissions in accordance with the timings and procedures indicated.
- Notify candidates in writing of their result in the examination (and other ISVPS submissions if applicable) within six weeks of the final examination. These results will be released online (via the ISVPS ‘Candidates’ Area’). Results are pass/fail only. No pass mark will be issued.
To be eligible to sit the examination, candidates must:
- Attend all taught modules of the course and sign the ‘Attendance Register’ on those days. Candidates are not permitted to sit the assessments and final examination until the necessary number of modules have been completed and the appropriate registration form and fees have been received by ISVPS and by any third party when remote invigilation takes place. Candidates who miss more than the permitted number of modules may attend those modules in an alternative venue or in the following year, and then sit the examination, provided that the appropriate registration form and fees have been received by ISVPS.
- Register and pay in full for the examination by the date given (proof of payment may be required). This fee is non-refundable, but candidates may defer their entry into the examination, providing they give written notice to ISVPS at least 30 days prior to the first submission deadline. Deferrals after this date will NOT be accepted unless extenuating circumstances apply.
- Candidates are permitted only ONE undefined (no reason given) deferral attempt for the certificate assessment and examination. If, for any extenuating reasons, a further deferral is required, this must be notified to ISVPS immediately and accompanying documentation (e.g. medical certificate) provided with the deferral request. The deferral request will be considered at the discretion of ISVPS, and the candidate will be notified of the deferral request decision within 10 working days.
- If deferring, candidates are automatically registered for the next available examination.
- If a candidate fails to notify ISVPS that they wish to defer, provides fewer than 30 days’ notice, or fails to submit the case report or attend the examination, this will be classed as one failed attempt of the certificate assessment and examination (one attempt used), and an administration fee is payable for the candidate to re-sit in the following year.
- Submit their completed course work to ISVPS in accordance with the timings and procedures indicated and in accordance with the writing guidelines provided.
- Attend the appropriate venue (or online platform) for the final examination on the stated date and at the stated time.
- If requested, provide proof of identification for examination, registration processes or certificate issuing. ISVPS reserves the right to check the documentation provided and qualifications stated by the candidate. If qualifications are not deemed proven, ISVPS may alter the certificate issued to match the qualifications or exclude the candidate from ISVPS Examination and/or ISVPS certificate holders.
- Notify ISVPS of any change in their name or correspondence address (informing Harper Adams University (if applicable) and the training provider separately).
- Remote exams may incur additional fees. These shall not be reimbursed nor postponed or transferred and will be charged in each remote exam enrolment.
- Candidates who sit the final examination, but are unsuccessful, may re-sit the examination in the following year. A fee is payable, and details of re-registration procedures will be available to unsuccessful candidates upon request. Candidates are permitted a maximum of three attempts to pass the examination.
- Candidates who are unsuccessful in their case report may submit a new case the following year. A fee is payable, and details of re-registration procedures will be available to unsuccessful candidates upon request. Candidates are permitted a maximum of three attempts to pass the case report. Candidates may not amend and resubmit the same case.
- All assessments (case report and examinations) MUST be completed within four examination opportunities following course completion. Examination opportunities typically occur once per year.
- Under no circumstances are candidates permitted to remove any examination question papers or notes from the examination room. Note paper may not be permitted when undertaking ISVPS examinations remotely.
- By registering for the examination, candidates agree to accept the decision of the examiners. Unsuccessful candidates may appeal against the conduct of the examination, but not against the decision of the examiners.
- Any appeal must be made in writing (using the “The International School of Veterinary Postgraduate Studies Candidate Appeals Policy and Procedure” form) and submitted to firstname.lastname@example.org within 30 days of examination results being issued. ISVPS will provide a written response to any such appeal within 30 days of receipt.
- The examination and all allied activities are the responsibility of ISVPS, rather than the training provider, and any correspondence or appeals related to the examination must therefore be directed to ISVPS as described above.
- Successful candidates will have their name placed in the ISVPS register, which is available publicly. If candidates do not wish for their name to appear in the ISVPS register, they may choose this option in the ISVPS ‘Candidates’ Area’.
- By registering for the ISVPS examination, candidates are granting International School of Veterinary Postgraduate Studies (ISVPS) a free, non-exclusive, irrevocable, perpetual, global, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, adapt, translate and modify the submitted clinical case report in any media, printed or digital.
- The candidate certifies that they are the exclusive author and sole owner of the copyright of the submitted clinical case report and do not infringe upon, violate, or misappropriate any copyright or other intellectual property rights, or any other proprietary right, contract or other right or interest of any third party.
- Vehicles are parked at the owner’s risk at all venues. ISVPS will not accept any liability for loss or damage to vehicles.
- Personal possessions and valuables are the responsibility of the candidates at all times and at all venues ISVPS will not accept any liability for the loss of or damage to personal possessions and valuables.
- Any notice required or permitted to be given by either party to the other under this contract shall be in writing addressed to the other party at its registered office or principal place of business or such other address as may at the relevant time have been notified under this provision to the party giving the notice.
- If any provision of this contract is held by any competent authority to be invalid or unenforceable in whole or in part the validity of the other provisions of this contract and the remainder of the provision in question shall be unaffected.
- This contract excludes and/or supersedes any previous statements or agreements between us whether written or oral relating to the provision of the service.
- These Terms and Conditions together with the “registration and payment form” constitute the entire agreement between the parties, supersede any previous agreement or understanding and may not be varied except in writing between the parties. All other terms, express or implied by statute or otherwise, are excluded to the fullest extent permitted by law.
- This contract shall be governed by the laws of England and we both agree to submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.

- Content you provide (such as photos, articles, assessments, information, personal details)
- Qualifications, CV, references, education
- Photographs and CCTV footage
- Time registration, attendance and absence information
What we do with the information we gather:
- Customer or supplier administration
- Supply and delivery of the services or products ordered by you
- Administrating payment of invoices and collection of debts
- Compliance with Data Protection legislation and/or any applicable laws and regulations
- Protect against and prevent fraud and unauthorised transactions
- Delivery of assessment and learning materials, notes and product support
- Anonymising personal information
- Register and follow-up any opt-in or opt-out that you have indicated to us, in order to ensure that Mailings are customized and to ensure that you no longer receive Mailings you have opted-out of
- Comply with regulation
- Use personal data in an anonymous and aggregate way for survey analysis research purposes
- Any other purposes of processing of your personal data agreed upon with you
Disclosures of your information:
- In the context of the purposes as listed above, we may share your personal data with third parties, such as banks and IT service providers or transfer the data in an anonymous way to third parties for statistic or research purposes. Your personal data can also be disclosed to all companies within the Improve International Group.
- We will ensure that, where relevant, contractual safeguards are implemented to ensure the protection of your personal data when disclosing your personal data to a third party. We will never pass your personal information to anyone else, except where we are required or permitted to do so by law.
How long do we keep your Personal Data for?
- We will normally keep your personal data for the duration of the business relation we have with you and for a period of seven years after the end of the contract or services delivered to you unless the data relates to professional certifications or qualifications supplied by us to you which you may require evidence of throughout your career, which could be kept for a period of 50 years, as it is for your best interests. Only where we are legally obliged to, or where this is necessary for defending our interests in the context of judicial proceedings, we will store the personal data for longer periods.
- We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we hold.
We are not liable for any breach of contract between ourselves and candidates caused by matters beyond our reasonable control, including, but not limited to industrial or transport related disputes, weather of exceptional or unusual severity, acts of local or central government or other authorities, war, flood, fire or interruption of electricity supply.
