Foundation Certificates

A Foundation Certificate qualification is aimed at veterinary professionals who are wishing to gain in depth knowledge within a specific area of veterinary medicine and surgery.

These programmes may also be applicable to new graduates, those returning to practice after a career break and for individuals looking for additional training, prior to progressing to a broader GPC/PgC course.

How will you benefit?

There are a number of ways that you will benefit from the FCert qualification, including:

  • Supporting the transition from undergraduate to postgraduate studies, including consolidating knowledge gained during your undergraduate studies
  • Building a cohesive understanding and awareness in your area of interest
  • Having an awareness of all standard techniques
  • Understanding your own abilities, recognising when cases would benefit from referral to, or collaboration with, more experienced colleagues
  • Transferable skills you can use inside and outside the practice, including decision-making, personal autonomy, the ability to manage your own learning and how to apply available evidence to identify solutions

Plus…

  • Peer recognition of your dedication to furthering your knowledge
  • The option to further your career and achieve an ISVPS qualification.
